VMD Event Types
TetherX Platform supports the following event types through VMD (Video Motion Detection) mapping. These events are standardised across different camera manufacturers and models.
Important: These are events the TetherX Platform supports. Your specific camera may not support all of these event types depending on its capabilities and firmware.
Motion & Detection
- Motion Detection - Basic motion detection and monitoring
- Video Loss - Detects when video signal is lost
- Video Blind - Detects when camera lens is obscured
- Scene Change - Detects significant changes in the scene
- Defocus Detection - Detects when camera becomes out of focus
- Audio Detection - Detects audio anomalies
- Audio Exception - Detects audio system failures
Security & Access
- Intrusion - Detects unauthorised entry into defined areas
- Loitering - Detects people remaining in area for extended period
- Region Entrance - Detects entry into specific regions
- Region Exit - Detects exit from specific regions
- Line Crossing - Detects crossing of virtual lines
- Unattended Baggage - Detects objects left unattended
- Object Removal - Detects removal of objects from scene
- PIR Alarm - Passive infrared motion sensor triggered
- Emergency - Emergency button or panic alarm triggered
People & Crowd
- Face Detection - Detects human faces in scene
- People Counting - Counts number of people in area
- Crowd Detection - Detects crowd formation or density
- Queue Detection - Monitors queue length and waiting times
- People Gathering - Detects gathering of multiple people
Vehicle & Traffic
- Vehicle Detection - Detects vehicles in scene
- Parking Detection - Monitors parking space occupancy
- Number Plate Recognition - Reads vehicle registration plates
- Illegal Parking - Detects vehicles in no-parking zones
- Traffic Statistics - Tracks traffic flow and patterns

If you're not seeing events from your camera that you expect, check:
- Camera firmware is up to date
- Event detection is enabled in camera settings
- Camera has sufficient processing power for advanced detection
- Network connectivity is stable
- Camera supports the specific event type you're looking for
