VMD Event Types

TetherX Platform supports the following event types through VMD (Video Motion Detection) mapping. These events are standardised across different camera manufacturers and models.

Important: These are events the TetherX Platform supports. Your specific camera may not support all of these event types depending on its capabilities and firmware.

Motion & Detection

  • Motion Detection - Basic motion detection and monitoring
  • Video Loss - Detects when video signal is lost
  • Video Blind - Detects when camera lens is obscured
  • Scene Change - Detects significant changes in the scene
  • Defocus Detection - Detects when camera becomes out of focus
  • Audio Detection - Detects audio anomalies
  • Audio Exception - Detects audio system failures

Security & Access

  • Intrusion - Detects unauthorised entry into defined areas
  • Loitering - Detects people remaining in area for extended period
  • Region Entrance - Detects entry into specific regions
  • Region Exit - Detects exit from specific regions
  • Line Crossing - Detects crossing of virtual lines
  • Unattended Baggage - Detects objects left unattended
  • Object Removal - Detects removal of objects from scene
  • PIR Alarm - Passive infrared motion sensor triggered
  • Emergency - Emergency button or panic alarm triggered

People & Crowd

  • Face Detection - Detects human faces in scene
  • People Counting - Counts number of people in area
  • Crowd Detection - Detects crowd formation or density
  • Queue Detection - Monitors queue length and waiting times
  • People Gathering - Detects gathering of multiple people

Vehicle & Traffic

  • Vehicle Detection - Detects vehicles in scene
  • Parking Detection - Monitors parking space occupancy
  • Number Plate Recognition - Reads vehicle registration plates
  • Illegal Parking - Detects vehicles in no-parking zones
  • Traffic Statistics - Tracks traffic flow and patterns

Advanced Analytics

  • Heat Map - Generates heat maps of activity
  • Face Recognition - Identifies specific individuals
  • Human Detection - Specifically detects human shapes
  • Fire Detection - Detects fire or smoke
  • Smoke Detection - Detects smoke in scene
  • Temperature Detection - Monitors temperature changes
  • Explosion Detection - Detects explosion events

Technical Events

  • Storage Detection - Monitors storage system status
  • Alarm Input - External alarm input triggered
  • Alarm Output - External alarm output activated
  • Temperature Alarm - Device temperature exceeded limits
  • Network Disconnected - Network connection lost
  • IP Conflict - IP address conflict detected
  • MAC Conflict - MAC address conflict detected
