AI Insights provides intelligent analysis of your TetherBox systems, helping you understand health status and identify potential issues before they cause problems.
Drive Health Analysis
The first AI Insight analyses storage drive health by examining multiple data sources:
- SMART metrics - Compares initial readings (from when the drive was installed) against current values to identify degradation trends
- Drive specifications - Model, capacity, type (SSD/HDD), and manufacturer ratings
- Temperature history - Thermal patterns that may indicate cooling issues
- System workload - CPU load, IO wait, number of recording cameras
- Reboot history - 6-month history to identify patterns linked to drive issues
How to Use
- Go to Admin → TetherBoxes
- Select a TetherBox and click the Storage tab
- Click on a drive to view its details
- Click Get AI Insights
The AI analyses all available data and generates a comprehensive report within seconds.
What the Report Includes
- Overall health status - Good, Fair, Poor, or Critical
- Key concerns - Specific issues identified from the data
- Degradation analysis - How metrics have changed since installation
- Estimated remaining life - Based on wear indicators and usage patterns
- Recommended actions - Maintenance steps or replacement timing
Rate Limiting
Analysis is available once per week per drive. This ensures each analysis reflects meaningful changes rather than minor fluctuations, and keeps the feature sustainable as part of your Platform subscription.
Tip: The weekly limit resets based on when the last analysis was performed, not a fixed schedule.
Understanding Results
Health Status Levels
- Good - Drive is healthy with no concerns. Continue normal monitoring.
- Fair - Minor wear or early warning signs detected. No immediate action required but worth monitoring more closely.
- Poor - Significant degradation or concerning trends. Plan for replacement soon.
- Critical - Imminent failure risk. Replace immediately and ensure backups are current.
