VMD Event Types

TetherX Platform supports the following event types through VMD (Video Motion Detection) mapping. These events are standardised across different camera manufacturers and models.

Motion & Activity

• Motion Detected - Basic motion detection in the camera's field of view
• Intrusion Detected - Object or person entering a restricted area
• Line Crossing / Tripwire - Object crossing a virtual line or boundary
• Fast Movement - Rapid movement detected in the monitored area
• Loitering Detected - Person remaining in area for extended time
• People Gathering - Multiple people congregating in area
• PIR Triggered - Passive infrared motion sensor activation

Object Detection

• Face Detected - Human face recognition and detection
• Human - Human shape or presence detection
• Has People - People counting and presence detection
• Vehicle - Vehicle presence or movement detection
• Parking - Vehicle parking detection
• Person queue counting - Queue length and waiting time analysis
• Animal Detected - Animal presence or movement detection
• Object Tracking - PTZ camera auto-tracking an object
• Abandoned Object - Object left unattended in monitored area
• Object Removed - Object taken from monitored area
• Detected Trash - Litter or waste detection
• Doorbell Call - Video doorbell button pressed

Tampering & Security

• Tamper - Camera tampering or interference detected
• Video Lost - Video signal loss or interruption
• Video Blinded - Camera lens blocked or obscured
• Video UnFocused - Camera out of focus or image quality issues
• Scene Change - Significant change in the monitored scene
• Abnormal Audio - Audio anomalies or unusual sounds
• Alarm - General alarm or alert condition

System & Technical

• Storage Failure - Recording storage system failure
• Storage Low Space - Low available storage space warning
• Storage Does Not Exist - Storage device not found or disconnected
• Storage Switch - Storage device switching event
• IP conflict - Network IP address conflict detected
• Network changed - Network configuration or connectivity change
• Login Failure - Failed authentication attempts
• Reboot - Camera system restart or reboot
• Clock Synchronization - Time synchronization events
• Relay - Relay activation or control event
• SIP Registeration - SIP communication registration event
• Digital Input - Digital input signal activation
• IO alarm - Input/output alarm condition
• User Lock - User account lock or security event
• IR Light Switch - Infrared light switching event
• Call No Answer - Unanswered call or communication timeout
• Cascade DGS Error Report - Cascade DGS error reporting
• Auto register - Automatic device registration event
• Serial Data - Serial communication data received
• WiFi Connection - WiFi access point connection or mode change
• GPS Upload - GPS location data from mobile/vehicle camera
• Configuration Changed - Camera configuration settings modified
• Continuous - Continuous monitoring events

• Flood - Water detection or flooding

• Camera firmware is up to date
• Event detection is enabled in camera settings
• Camera has sufficient processing power for advanced detection
• Network connectivity is stable
• Camera supports the specific event type you're looking for
