Uniview / UNV Setup

Uniview (UNV) cameras should work out of the box in most cases. However, depending on camera age and firmware version, the RTSP path may differ.

RTSP Paths

If your Uniview camera isn't connecting automatically, try one of the following paths:

Configuring Custom Paths

  1. Go to AdminCameras and select your Uniview camera

  2. Scroll to the Advanced Settings section and expand Custom Paths

  3. Enter the RTSP path in both the Analytics Path and Recording Path fields

  4. Try each path from the table above until the camera connects

Tip: Start with /media/video1 as this works with most modern Uniview cameras. If that doesn't work, try the other paths in order.


Troubleshooting

If none of the standard paths work:

  • Check the camera's web interface for the correct RTSP URL format
  • Ensure the camera firmware is up to date
  • Verify the camera credentials are correct in TetherX
